The authors have struck just the right balance of inspiration, motivation, and science. They have clearly done their homework. The science is both accurate and up to date.

I am recommending the Longevity Book to everyone I know, both men and women, because any man who cares about his partner can only benefit from a greater understanding of her health issues, and because we should all eat, laugh and love well. I wasn't sure what to think about Cameron Diaz tackling the topic of aging. She is, after all, in a profession that worships youth and casts aside anyone who has the misfortune of growing old.

I was pleasantly surprised and immensely impressed. The book is thoughtful, well-organized and well-written. She and her co-author, Sandra Bark, make the physiology of aging understandable.

If this information had been presented to me in this way back in high school, I might have saved myself some lessons along the way. The narrator is excellent. She sounds a bit like Diaz, and she definitely captures the tone of the writing.

December 24, I figured I would end up writing about Diaz betraying the character lesson taught by her Shrek character, Fiona, to not seek a perfect outside, but love and accept both your inner and outer ogre. I was wrong to make that assumption. Not being perfect is actually what Ms. Instead, I watched the three-minute video of Diaz interviewing subjects and snapping photos, seeking to wallow in what I presumed to be a perfection-fest by a blond string bean born with great genetics. I saw Diaz being very authentic with a diverse group of 40 women, snapping the photos herself in a low-key, almost slumber party-style candor for a body-mind nutrition and healthy movement book. Let me know when it posts so I can show the other guys his three brothers.
