The actual offshore seismic surveys are done with specific vessels towing up to ten kilometers of cables where the seismic sensors are attached, this technology have many disadvantages, such as the high cost for operating the vessel, maneuverability limitations in very shallow water and geometric inflexibility of the sensors. In this paper we present a novel technology for offshore seismic surveys based on autonomous underwater vehicles. A centralized formation control approach is adopted combined with a centralized localization and communication systems in order to validate the proof of concept of this technology.

This article explains how the data acquisition process is up to the process of producing an underwater photo map. Automatic data processing for coral reef objects from the initial data acquisition stage to building 3D models from seabed objects to rendering in virtual reality. In this paper, underwater photogrammetry was applied with SfM Structure from Motion algorithm in performing 3D reconstruction of coral reefs that will be produce orthophoto map. Geodetic measurements also performed to the model for control point. The analysis will be divided into t-test and F-test. The 3D coral reef model in the resulting orthophoto still has weaknesses, for example the color appearance that depends on the level of clarity of the water as well as the camera filter used. However, in 2D display is sufficient and can be an alternative to other methods, for example, the LIT method.

When only low resolution bathymetry is available, regional regressions of roughness indicators can be used to create pipeline geometries that are representative of the actual seabed roughness for a better prediction of operating envelopes. Roughness indicators can be used to fingerprint the roughness of existing pipeline topographies and to characterize geomorphic features of the seafloor. Reducing noise in raw survey data is essential for pertinent characterizations of the seafloor and pipeline profiles. Noise in data from seabed and out-of-straightness surveys can be reduced through a smoothing technique combining a moving average and a linear least squares fit.
