No rips in the pages whatsoever, so you can tell it was a manufacturing defect. It's exactly 30 pages ahead of the hardback book I needed for class, so it's still easy to follow along. I give it 2 stars still because it's a lot cheaper than the alternative hardback text that was listed as a requirement for ADV Images in this review.
