Job satisfaction or employee satisfaction is a measure of workers' contentedness with their job, whether they like the job or individual aspects or facets of jobs, such as nature of work or supervision. One of the most widely used definitions in organizational research is that of Locke , who defines job satisfaction as "a pleasurable or positive emotional state resulting from the appraisal of one's job or job experiences" p. It is assessed at both the global level whether the individual is satisfied with the job overall , or at the facet level whether the individual is satisfied with different aspects of the job.

A number of empirical studies have shown a positive influence of employment stability on job satisfaction. The aim of our research is to investigate the relationships between job security, employment stability and job satisfaction of workers in Poland. In the study, we strive to show how these factors impact knowledge workers and other workers differently. In order to conduct analysis, we propose two logistic models, separate for these two groups, with job satisfaction as a dependent variable and type of contract and three items denoting different dimensions of job insecurity: an insecure source of income, too many duties to cope with and being treated unjustly at the workplace, as independent variables. The robustness of the models has been defended by the introduction of the time dimension.

When Does Job Security Affect Job Performance?

Job security has rapidly decreased in modern times. In a recent survey, employees ranked job security as the greatest contributing factor to job satisfaction. However, because job insecurity is currently much more common, organizations need to understand the conditions under which employees can remain engaged at work and how negative responses to job insecurity can be reduced. Past research has produced mixed results regarding the link between job insecurity and job performance. Some have suggested that more work needs to be done in exploring work contexts or situations as factors that may influence this relationship. But what intervention strategies will produce the greatest results?

Previous studies of the relationship between job security and job satisfaction were mostly conducted on research samples in Asia from the perspective of oriental culture; however, under the same cultural background, different social systems might lead to different cognition outcomes. Therefore, this study examines the job security and organizational support of Taiwan and mainland China employees from the perspectives of competence enhancement motivation, and investigates the relationship between employability and job satisfaction. Adopting judgmental sampling, a total of valid questionnaires were collected from Taiwan and mainland China employees. The path relationship of the two groups was examined through structural equation modeling SEM by using analysis of moment structure AMOS.

The objective of this study portrayed the relationship between job security and employees performance; the relationship between job security and job satisfaction; the relationship between job security and management-employee relations. The study adopted survey research design, questionnaire were administered to staff of banks First Bank Plc and Zenith Bank and telecommunication networks MTN and Etisalat. Data were analysed using the Simple Regression Analysis. It was revealed that job security influences employee satisfaction and reduces voluntary labour turnover in organization.
