Impact of Transformational Leadership on Organizational Performance

This study aims to investigate the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation in Jordanian commercial banks, and whether organizational learning capability mediates the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation. Adopting a quantitative research design, data were collected by means of a questionnaire-based survey of employees in Jordanian commercial banks. Based on usable responses, the results revealed the significant effect of transformational leadership and two of its dimensions inspirational motivation and intellectual stimulation on entrepreneurial orientation. Two other dimensions idealized influence and individualized consideration did not contribute to entrepreneurial orientation. Additionally, the results showed that transformational leadership has a significant effect on organizational learning capability, and that organizational learning capability in turn affects entrepreneurial orientation. The findings confirm that organizational learning capability fully mediates the effect of transformational leadership on entrepreneurial orientation. Banks should also consider improving their learning capability, as this plays a significant role in enhancing and supporting the effect of transformational leadership attributes on entrepreneurial orientation.

This article analyzes the direct and indirect effects of transformational leadership on follower performance through upward knowledge management and organizational learning. The research has been carried out in a company that has formed learning organization teams for organizational growth. After applying a confirmatory factor analysis to the scales used in the research, the relationship among research variables has been analyzed by using the structural equation model SEM. Purpose: The present study aims to investigate the influence of transformational leadership style TFL on organizational learning OL. More specifically, it aims to examine the mediating effect of organizational culture OC on this relationship, in the context of ministries operating in Palestine. Two hypotheses were proposed for testing. The data were collected from managers at 23 ministries in Gaza by using self adminstarted questionniers and the data aggregated by individual level. Findings: The results demonstrated that organizational culture was a significant predictor of organizational learning and functioned as a fully mediator between the transformational leadership style and organizational learning. It is possible that at least certain aspects of transformational leadership and its impact on organizational culture and organizational learning emerge with some kind of time lag. This study also used the perceptions of leader-self report as its data source, which may cause potential common source bias.
